Maria Friesen nee Wiebe (1852-1886) |
|
Obituary from Mennonitische Rundschau, December 8, 1886, p. 1 Hochstadt, Post Office, November 27 Since I am only such a rare guest of the dear "Rundschau", I cannot now write briefly since I also gladly see messages from far and abroad therein and find often only few therein. The cold weather has relented. We had some days 15-19° cool. Little snow and the same when storms came, so that the sleigh driving is difficult and wagon driving is also laborious. The state of health is generally good. Some families have measles, more so among the children. My dear wife, born Wiebe, of Rosengart, Chortitza Colony passed away in Jesus. She lived to an age of 33 years, 10 months and 24 days. She leaves behind a deeply saddened husband and four children. She was buried on November 26. Her illness lasted a year and in this time she suffered much. Thus these few dear friends, who themselves remember her and I, from love with healing. A greeting to all friends and acquaintances. G. S. Friesen, from Landskrone, Russia. ■
