Friesen Letter

Letter printed in the Mennonitische Rundschau, 10 May 1893, p. 3. Written by the older brother of Gerhard S. Friesen.

From  Heinrich and Elisabeth Balzer, Tiegerweide, I one day quickly and correctly received a letter from March 2, 1893. If the dear nephews and nieces in the old homeland get this letter, they can suppose it as being from Heinrich S. Friesen, son of the Heinrich D. Friesen, a printer and dyer of cotton who lived in Lichtenau, later Landskrone and Crimea, who died on July 1, 1877, at the age of 50 years, 1 month, and 6 days.  My dear mother, nee Schellenberg, was from Blumstein. My grandmother, nee Deleski, died February 1877. My dear wife, nee Ewert of Russian-Poland, was foster daughter of Wilhelm Wohlgemuth, Crimea, from Poland.  If our nephews and nieces do not get the Rundschau yet, I want to order it for them.  The Rundschau is a good messenger. – Please regarding the address of the Herman D. Friesen, from  Sparrau and later moved to Sagradoska.  – Where are the heirs of Johann D. Friesen keeping themselves?  The mentioned was my father’s brother, and must already long dead, but amongst his children probably yet someone is still alive,
