Heinrich S. Friesen (1850-1933) |
|
Heinrich and Aganetha married in Tiege, Sagradovka, South Russia and accompanied his parents to Canada in December, 1875. They lived near present day Kleefeld, Manitoba until about 1888 when they moved to Alexandria, South Dakota. Aganetha had some difficulties with her health. Heinrich reports that she was bedridden the winter of 1892-3. In July of 1894, they moved to Buckhart, Missouri, where they had an 80 acre property, a shingled 14x16 foot house, two good wells, a small stream, and 15 acres under cultivation. Heinrich reports that he traded two horses and a wagon for the house. After Aganetha died, Heinrich moved to Didsbury, Alberta in 1903. He married a widow of English descent in 1904. He returned to the Kleefeld, Manitoba, area in 1910. Heinrich was an avid contributor of local reports to the Mennonitische Rundschau. In his latter years, Heinrich joined the Seventh Day Adventists.
