Obituary of Elisabeth Bergmann nee Toews (1849-1907)

On Nov. 12, with an alive faith in her Lord, sister P. Bergmann, wife of preacher P. Bergmann, passed away in Ladekopp. For the last ten years she had an affliction of the spine and towards the end many large wounds erupted. For the last number of years she could no longer walk. During the last part of the summer she was doing so poorly that she had to get around in a wheelchair. Then at the beginning of the fall, she was completely bedridden. The grace of God was magnified especially in that in spite of her long affliction and needs, she was without complaint and an example of Christ-like patience. Rather she thanked the Lord with all her heart for his abiding grace. The funeral took place Saturday, Nov. 17.
