Here are some useful resources for researching the family history of Abram P. Bergmann (1884-1971) and Katharina nee Wiens (1887-1980).

· Of Russian Roots and Canadian Migration: The Illustrated Story of the Abram P. Bergmann and Katharina Wiens Family and Ancestry, second edition, by Michael Penner, 2003 (115 pages)

· Heinrich Barkmann Arithmetic Book, 1826. Mennonite Heritage Centre archives, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Volume 1082 File #32. The back pages of this very old book contain the Bergmann genealogy back to Abraham Baerkmann (1741 – 1783).

· A Look at the Past: The Memories of Heinrich Wiens, by Heinrich Wiens, privately published, 2000 (108 pages). The Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg, has a copy. The memoirs of Heinrich Wiens (1917–1995), nephew of Katharina Wiens (1887-1980).

· Erinnerungen Aus Meine Leben, by Margaret Schmidt nee Wiens (1898-1994), unpublished. Contains two installments: 1983 and early 1990’s. Written by the sister of Katharina Wiens (1887-1980).

· Exodus from Russia: Life Story Sketch, by Anna Dick nee Wiens, sister of Katharina Wiens (1887-1980). A copy is housed at the Mennonite Heritage Centre, Winnipeg, in the Dick-Schmidt Family Collection, Volume 4368:21.

· Rueckenau, by Leona Wiebe Gislason, 1999. Excellent history of the Russian village where Abram P. and Katharina Bergmann lived.

· Schoenfeld, by Gerhard Toews (translated into English by Eric Enns). A copy is housed at the Heritage Centre, Winnipeg, (DK 508.95.S36 T69a 2000). History of the Schoenfeld Colony where Katharina Wiens (1887-1980) lived until 1904.
